- K-Laser
Ultrasound is a treatment modality used by chiropractors that utilizes high or low frequency sound waves that are transmitted to the surrounding tissue and vasculature. These sound waves penetrate the muscles to cause deep tissue muscle warming. This promotes tissue relaxation and therefore is useful in treating muscle tightness and spasms. The warming effect also causes vessel vasodilatation, which increases circulation to the area that assists in healing. Ultrasound can also be used to help decrease inflammation. Electrical muscle stimulation is a treatment modality used by chiropractors that help in the relaxation of muscle spasms, increasing range of motion, reduction and prevention of muscle atrophy, reeducation of muscles, increasing local blood circulation, decreasing inflammation, promotes local healing and reduces pain. Zion Chiropractic also offers hydrotherapy massage tables as well as intersegmental traction using roller massaging tables.

Rolfing or “Structural Integration” is a scientifically validated system of restructuring the human body. It releases the body from life-long patterns of tension and allows gravity to naturally realign them. This deep and often painful therapy is highly effective for improving posture, reducing or eliminating chronic pain, and releasing long-term emotional and mental stress.
A typical treatment (called a “10 series”) consists of ten weekly, one-hour sessions, with each session focusing on a certain area of your body. These sessions are organized into a specific sequence to most effectively realign the entire body. When the treatment is completed, you will experience a ‘new’ body that has better posture and a more relaxed relationship to gravity.
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don’t get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.
Sports Massage is a type of massage designed for highly active people who engage in athletics. Engaging in sports is harsh on the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short and long term. Sports Massage enhances performance and prolongs a sports career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates. Sports Massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body’s natural immune function.
Medical Massage differs from regular Massage and Bodywork in that the treatment is specifically directed to resolve conditions diagnosed by a medical doctor. I may use a variety of modalities or techniques during the treatment, but I focus the treatment only on the specific areas of the body related to the diagnosis. This enhances the body’s natural self-healing process and reduces the needed recovery time from injury.
